Wide Fluted Wood Panels
Wide fluted panels use a larger repeat to make each channel part of the wall's architecture. They offer a broader, more pronounced texture than a closely spaced fluted profile.
Design & material.
The larger pattern can suit an expansive wall where fine detailing would be less apparent. It also makes the start and end of the repeat more noticeable. We consider how the channels line up with nearby furniture and the edges of the feature area before settling on a composition.
Installation details.
Channel width, depth and the selected wood finish are confirmed from samples. Wider relief changes the way exposed edges and returns need to be finished. Curved applications require a compatible system; a wide-fluted appearance alone does not mean that a rigid panel can bend.
Can wide fluted panels wrap a curve?
Only if the selected product and construction support that radius. For a wall or column with a curve, we review the substrate and a compatible flexible system before specifying material.
