Molding layouts
Picture-Frame Wall Molding
Picture-frame molding adds individual framed outlines to an existing wall. A full-wall layout can organize a living room, bedroom or dining area without covering the entire surface with panels.
Half-Wall Wainscoting
Half-wall wainscoting concentrates architectural detail on the lower part of the wall. A continuous cap connects the framed sections and leaves the upper wall available for paint or artwork.
Chair Rail with Framed Panels
A chair rail with framed panels divides the wall into two coordinated zones. Upper and lower frames work together, making the horizontal rail part of a complete wall composition.
Inset Panel Wainscoting
Inset panel wainscoting creates recessed fields within a framework of vertical stiles and horizontal rails. The depth comes from the construction of the assembly, rather than an outline applied to a flat wall.

Wall molding installation includes setting out the frames, fitting the trim and planning transitions around doors, baseboards and corners. Applied picture-frame molding uses the existing wall as its background; inset wainscoting adds a framed panel assembly. Those constructions need different preparation and finishing details.
What affects the project cost?
The number of frames, trim profile, treatment height and wall preparation affect the price. A long wall with a few large frames differs from several short walls with many corners. Painting the surrounding wall and replacing existing trim are included only when specified.
