Linear Grid Accent Walls

A linear grid uses horizontal and vertical members to divide a wall into a deliberate composition. ESSE Walls plans the spacing around the room, so the pattern works with the ceiling, furniture and openings.

Design & material.

Evenly spaced rectangles create a regular rhythm; changing the spacing gives the same construction a more individual character. A painted finish can blend the members into the background, while a wood finish makes the framework more prominent. The proportions matter more than simply fitting the greatest number of boxes onto a wall.

Installation details.

We review the wall dimensions, doors, outlets and the position of furniture before setting out the grid. Member width, projection and edge terminations are agreed together. Uneven walls, removal of existing finishes and lighting details are included only when defined in the project scope.

How is a linear grid different from picture-frame molding?

A grid reads as a connected framework across the wall. Picture-frame molding usually creates separate framed rectangles with open space between them. We can compare both layouts using your wall proportions.
