Layered Relief Walls

Layered relief gives a feature wall depth through overlapping planes and changes in projection. It is suited to a composition where the shape and its shadows should be as noticeable as the finish.

Design & material.

Large, shallow layers can create a restrained architectural background. Stronger changes in depth give the wall a more sculptural appearance. Natural light and existing fixtures affect the shadow lines, so the design is considered in relation to the room's lighting.

Installation details.

Projection needs to be checked against furniture, doors, circulation and electrical devices. We review edge construction, visible joints and fixing requirements before confirming fabrication. Integrated lighting is a separate detail to coordinate, including access to its components.

Does layered relief require built-in lighting?

No. Daylight and existing room lighting can reveal the relief. If additional lighting is wanted, its placement and installation scope are reviewed with the wall design.
